400 Years Old History of Jagannathji Temple

Rath Yatra in Puri
Lord Jagannath’s main temple is located in Jagannath Puri, Orissa. Rath Yatra was first held here in 1907. Every year the annual twenty days are organized in which millions of people participate. Every three chariots of Lord Rathras are prepared annually in Jagannathpuri. In Juggernath temple of Puri, no other than Indian Hindus get admission, but without any differentiation of the day on the Rath Yatra, one can perform any darshan and pull the chariot.
The statue of God is made of neem wood
The idols of God in Jagannathpuri, Orissa, are made from neem wood. It is said that this is just an outward opening. Lord Krishna himself is in the midst of it.
How to reach Jagannath Rath Yatra
Lord Jagannath, his brother Balbhadra and sister Subhadra take the Gaddicha Temple in the chariot from Jagannath temple. It is said that the Gundicha temple is Lord Jagannath’s aunt’s house. Lord Jagannath’s chariot is at the back. The chariot is started with a golden fencing and the charioteer is started. In the meanwhile, hundreds of people see three massive chariots with the sounds of traditional instrument machines.
